Volvox-Electronic Network of Environmental NGO in Serbia and Montenegro was initiated within The Regional Environmental Reconstruction Program - REReP 2.3 ). Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe took over funds collection, organization, international coordination and supervision of the project.

Volvox-Electronic Network of Environmental NGO in Serbia and Montenegro gather NGOs active in protection of environment, with the main aim to exchange information, experience and knowledge using the electronic system of communication

All the Network resources can be used by anyone who is interested in the environment: government institutions, individuals, media etc.

Work and development of the Network is coordinated by Steering committee, body made of 9 members, representatives of NGO active in the country.
VOLVOX network is based on work of the Local coordinators and Moderators of the Network. Local coordinators are selected organization by principle of geographic coverage and contribution of the news and ability of organization itself. Except the role of information providers, they are acting as promoters of the VOLVOX network. Moderators of the Network edit news on daily basis, publish the news from local coordinators, media, government, NGO etc.
